My counselling experience was very positive. It has given me some good tools with which to work with during this very difficult and sad time. My counsellor was very kind and supportive in every way. I really appreciate that if I need to come back for counselling after my loss then I was to do so. Just keep doing what you are doing. Thanks.
Good:
1.Reception staff:Kind, considerate and professional.
2.Counsellor: Caring, careful, respectful, knowledgeable, professional, boundaried (Thank you Sarah).
What could be improved? Only suggestion:
1.Waiting list - If possible shorter time to assessment and from assessment to counselling if not possible - communication. What is happening I wondered if I had been together!
Realise demand is great.
I was made to feel extremely welcome and comfortable. Everything was explained clearly. I am looking forward to starting counselling.
We was extremely scared for mum, very emotional & concerned. Trinity nurses rang to confirm help is on its way.
When they arrived it was like the Angels have just landed...
Thank you ladies you was so beautiful xxx
The counselor could relate to my concerns, events, etc and provide really valuable analysis.
Very kind and understanding.
I have no criticism of the care provided but the waiting times for ongoing counselling and initial assessment are quite long but that is due to financial constraints and not the fault of the staff.
The counselling helped me a lot, at a time when I was very emotional. I learned things about myself and the bereavement process, giving me confidence to get involved in many activities.
I was very impressed with the care and I am sorry but I cannot think of any way to improve it.
The care I received at the centre was exceptionally good. The support I received was first class and helped me tremendously.
To have someone outside the family to talk with, even though I get great support from all our family.
